What is candida body odor? Can candida even cause body odor? No, not from a vaginal yeast infection but the overgrowth of candida in your GUT.
If you read about my main post on leaky gut syndrome you will remember that I might of had some sort of candida overgrowth or bacteria in my gut.
So what is it? Don’t be frightened as candida is not life threatening. Candida overgrowth is where the candida in your gut starts growing and pretty much takes over your good bacteria.
Candida is a fungus and a form of yeast. All humans have candida in their mouth and intestines to aid in digestion and absorbing nutrients. When you start having too much candida, it will damage the wall of your intestines, releasing toxins and therefore causing leaky gut syndrome.
Eventually, the good bacteria can’t control it any longer thus giving you the symptoms of candida overgrowth.
How do you get it?
- Eating a lot of refined carbohydrates and sugar
- Lots of Stress
- Lots of alcohol
- Oral contraceptives
- Antibiotics (I think this was #1 for me)
- Too many fermented foods even though beneficial for overall health.
What are the symptoms?
- Always craving high sugar foods or refined carbohydrates. (desserts, sugary beverages, candy, pizza etc)
- Developing autoimmune disease
- Feeling tired and fatigued (brain fog, no energy)
- Developing skin fungus or athletes foot
- Constipation, diarrhea, bloating
- Vaginal infections, UTI’s, vaginal or rectal itching
- Skin issues like eczema and rashes.
- Candida Body Odor
You can check if you have candida overgrowth by doing a blood test or stool test with your doctor. A stool test is more preferred.
So I might have candida. How do I treat it?
You can treat candida by yourself if you have it. First off you’ll want to have some anti fungal medication or even better, ordering candida detox supplements. Next, you will need to go on a low carbohydrates diet, eliminating simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates as well. Definitely cut out sugar from your diet.
You want to stop the candida from growing, get rid of the overgrowth from your intestines, then heal your gut.
How I did it?
I stayed away from sugar and processed foods, & most carbs besides brown rice. I took a super green formula drink in the morning, and ate chicken, eggs, and brown rice for my meals. I highly recommend brown rice with all of its benefits. It has so many benefits that many people don’t seem to know about, especially when it comes to fighting candida overgrowth and candida body odor.
First I did a full body detox using this. Then I took my anti fungal candida detox medication, with probiotics in the morning & night right before I sleep. I also took it with prebiotic as well.
The initial detox helps clean all the toxins out of your system which will definitely reduce the candida body odor. I barely the odor after about 3 days of sticking to my diet and supplements. The candida cleanser right after will kill the excess candida in your gut and should get rid of the odor.
The length of time to fully recover will vary from person to person. It could take a month to six months depending on how bad it is, but the 90% of the smell should go away after the 1st week.
Don’t quit right after the smell goes away, because that is not enough to cure candida overgrowth or candida body odor. It can come back if your gut is not fully healed!
Leaky gut and candida overgrowth go hand in hand. It is highly likely that if you have one, you probably have the other as well. Both of these together can definitely cause havoc and disease if not treated. Follow my diet & routine and you will be okay. I recommend going to a doctor to make sure it’s not something else.
Quick to test to see if you have candida overgrowth?
Spit into a clear glass of water in the morning before you eat or drink anything. Let it sit for 15 minutes and then go back and see if the spit looks cloudy and if you see any white things. If you do, it is most likely a case of candida overgrowth and you should follow my diet above.
